2-14-25 THOUGHTS
Our reading begins with what God has prepared for those who love Him. God has revealed things like this to us through His Spirit! Read verse 12 several times... think! We have received the Spirit of God! The Spirit helps us know the GOODNESS OF GOD! Listen carefully, a natural man, a man of the world following fleshy lusts, maybe a double-minded man, cannot understand what the Spirit says about God! Our reading ends with “But we have the mind of Christ.” May that ever be true in us!
1Cor 2:9-16 but just as it is written, "THINGS WHICH EYE HAS NOT SEEN AND EAR HAS NOT HEARD, AND which HAVE NOT ENTERED THE HEART OF MAN, ALL THAT GOD HAS PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM." 10 For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God. 11 For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so the thoughts of God no one knows except the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God, 13 which things we also speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words. 14 But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised. 15 But he who is spiritual appraises all things, yet he himself is appraised by no one. 16 For WHO HAS KNOWN THE MIND OF THE LORD, THAT HE WILL INSTRUCT HIM? But we have the mind of Christ.
My Prayer:
Lord, help us pursue the mind of Christ through Your Spirit. Give us all zeal, and power in that pursuit! May we pant for the mind of Christ as a deer pants for water. Keep us from this fleshly world that distracts us from our goal. Strengthen our hearts for joyful service in the Kingdom, the Body, the Church. Boldy, humbly, rejoicingly, may we serve You as we bear fruit. We praise You, and thank You, O God, for the way You have set our creation. Thank You for what You have prepared for those who love You. May the signs of salvation be in us, as we look for the coming of our Lord. We pray in His name, Amen.
